Brazilian Review of Economics

The Brazilian Review of Econometrics is a journal that specializes in publishing research articles related to economics as well as theoretical and applied econometrics. The journal welcomes submissions from Brazilian and foreign researchers, whether affiliated with the Brazilian Econometric Society or not, and from universities located in Brazil or abroad.

Since 1981, the journal has been published twice a year, and it is one of Brazil’s most internationally oriented economic journals. The Brazilian Econometric Society, a scientific organization aiming to develop and promote statistical and mathematical methods for analyzing socio-economic problems, publishes this journal.

The journal’s editorial board comprises highly respected researchers from various fields of economics, both nationally and internationally. Consequently, the journal receives high-quality article submissions and can rely on high-level reviewers from Brazil and abroad.

In 2022, the Brazilian Review of Econometrics published a special edition on the Economics of the Family and Gender, sponsored by Itaú Social and carried out in collaboration with GeFam. The edition includes theoretical and empirical works that address topics related to the labor market, education, inequality, health, violence, family models, and institutional changes, among other familiar ones.

The Brazilian Review of Econometrics has a prominent position in Brazil’s academic community, enabling it to participate in scientific advances and actively influence public policies. Since 2000, the journal has been a pioneer among national publications by exclusively publishing articles in English. This has contributed significantly to the internationalization of economic research in Brazil and ensured that the impact of the articles reaches the entire international community.

All articles in the journal are indexed with DOI, promoting dissemination. The journal is also indexed in ISI and REPEC.
